Food as Medicine - Winter Knowledge Circle

Join our 3-week learning circle where we will explore our relationships to the medicines of cooking, ancestral food-ways, and the wisdom gifted to us by mother earth.

Earth Based Ancestral Traditions from Filipino Lineage Teachings
Foundations of Seasonal, Medicinal Eating
Basic Cooking Techniques for Broths, Soups, and Stews
Fermentation and Pickling
6 home “assignment” recipes with pre-recorded video instruction
Circle Protocol
Each of our live, virtual gatherings will consist of an opening meditation/ceremonial opening where we are welcome to build our own altar or sacred space. The rest of our time will be spent in cooking workshop and communal story-circle where we are allowed to share stories and reflections throughout the process of cooking. We will close with grounding breaths and offer food to our ancestors as a gratitude for the gift of this medicine.
Logistics
Our journey begins on Saturday January 16, 2021 at 3pm EST. We will end on Saturday January 30, 2021. We will meet on Zoom and a recurring meeting link will be sent a few days before the first circle.

Exchange
The actual cost of the class is $222.00.
6 full-scholarship spaces are available for working class, BIPOC community, with priority for youth ages 13 to 25. The scholarship applies to people with income levels that would qualify for medicaid. We trust that you will honor this policy and apply based on your personal ability to offer the proper exchange for classes.
